How To Change My Facebook Page Name After 200 Likes __EXCLUSIVE__

When you convert your profile to a business page only your profile photo and friends(converted to likes) will be moved to your new page, No other data is moved to your page. So if you need any information on your new page from your existing account, you should first download your profile data which include posts, photos, bios and anything associated with the account. Full list here.

how to change my facebook page name after 200 likes

The business page which will be created after migration will have the same name as your profile name. Also if you have more than 200 friends, you will not be able to change the name of your page after the conversion. Make sure your profile name reflects your business page name before going to the next step.

If you already have an active business page you probably would want to merge these pages. In this case, you need to provide same name and address as your active page or you might not be able to merge them.

If you have duplicate pages for your business you should merge them. In order to merge duplicate pages, they need to have the same name and address. Merging Pages combines all your likes and check-ins, but all other content from the Page with fewer likes, such as wall posts, photos and its username, will be permanently deleted.

Content on the Page with more likes will remain unchanged, except for the addition of likes and check-ins added from the Page with fewer likes. Facebook removes the Page with fewer likes and you will not be able to unmerge it.

Hi Michael, You can change the name of a facebook page which has fewer than 200 likes. So if your perosnal profile has more than 200 friends, change the name of your profile to desired business page name prior to conversion.

Hey Martin, Last i know of is you can change the page name if its below 200 likes, If its more than 200 you will not be able to change it. Maybe what you can try is changing the name of your profile to reflect your business name and then go about the conversion. Hope this helps!

Just for a little historical perspective, at one time Facebook had different instructions for pages based on its number of followers. If you had over 200 likes, you had a different set of rules to follow for changing the name of your page than those with under 200.

If you have more than 200 likes but must change your business Page name, Facebook sometimes puts a link on the Basic Information tab where you can go through the process of changing it. The only other recourse is to delete the original Page and start from scratch.

As a digital marketing agency, we supported our clients needs as they related to rebranding their social channels. The renaming of Twitter handles (after researching and vetting naming conventions adhering to the 15 character limit) proved to be a pretty simple task. Changing a company page name on LinkedIn is pretty simple as well, but getting the vanity url that you want may require you to get in touch with the LinkedIn support team, but have no fear, LinkedIn has THE BEST support team and they get back to you super quick. All channels that are part of the Google network (YouTube, Google+) are fairly straight forward to make changes to, but you need to know who on your team is the main owner of the accounts (who set them up originally) because this person will need to verify the changes before they will be made.

Facebook will block name change requests after you change a name too frequently. The site doesn't stipulate a maximum number of changes, but if you need to change your name and are blocked from doing so, you have one option: contacting the Facebook staff about updating your name for your account. Facebook provides a form for reconsidering blocked or rejected name change requests.

Click the "Choose File" button to upload a scanned copy of a government-issued ID, marriage certificate or legal name change document. Facebook requires a form of documentation showing your legal name to complete the name change.

Click the "Submit" button to send the name change request. Facebook contacts you directly via email if the site is able to make the name change. Name change requests backed by the proper documentation of the same name are usually granted.

I am also stuck with same problem. I change name of website, with 1000+ likes. I am not allowed to change the name of the page. As result i have now opened new page with new name . I used suffix com after the name

You are not the first person who creates a fan page for his/her brand or business and then decides to change its name. Nor are you the only person who created two fan pages with different objectives, which over time have come to share a common one, and you now find it too time-consuming to have to update two pages about the same thing. If you are one of those persons who change up their minds (just like we do!), here are some solutions for the changes you would like to implent on your page.

When you change the name and click on Request change, a mechanised process will start. Depending on the reason for change (i.e. spelling mistake or a more significant change), it will take more or less time for Facebook to implement the change.

If you are the page admin for two different pages, you can merge them into a single one, in case they serve the same purpose and have similar names. To do so, you just need to follow the steps below:

My main facebook page has nearly 14k likes and I have another which represents the same thing with 4200 likes, I had to rename one of them and this was approved but I had to appeal a few times because the names were so different. One case was closed but another is still open.

Thanks for posting informative article but i am still facing issue i have two page with different page name but i want to merge them i know merging page not possible when they have different page but when i changed second page name same like first then fb showing you already have page with this name so how i will change name and merge it please tell me

Hello,If you have followed the steps to request the change of name, it is normal that in 15 days you get a response. Try to see what appears to you, if you try again to request the change. If you no longer leave, then you will soon receive an answer, indicating whether they accept the change or not ?

A: Before you request a page merge, make sure two Facebook pages fit the criteria (both pages should have similar page names, categories, physical addresses, they must represent the same thing, and you must be an admin of both). You can visit this link to request a merger of two Pages. You can also go to Page Settings, click on General and Merge Page in the bottom right corner.

This article was great thank you so much! I had a question about merging pages with advertising restrictions, one of our pages was restricted so we had to create a new one but we lost all our likes and follows. If I merged the old one into the new one do we know if the advertising restrictions would carry over?

We cannot process your merge request because the selected Pages do not represent the same entity. The selected Page names need to be the same in order to be eligible to merge. You can learn more on how to change Page name here: i cant merge

Hi! I accidentally removed myself as an admin in my 1st page because the inbox and people messaging me in that page wont notify. I thought I can add myself as an admin again but i guess i cant do that anymore. So I created another page with the same name.. If I merge that what will happen to the inbox? will it merge and notify you on both pages?

Hi, I am the admin for 2 business pages and as they both had the same name and same content I went ahead to merge them just like you have written it down. I waited for over 2 weeks now , both pages are unpublished and not merged. I really need to get back online.

So, I understand there is a Facebook rule that when merging pages, you cannot merge a page with fewer likes into a page with more likes. Is this correct? Is there any way around this? I have two pages, one has less likes but it has customer reviews and posts. The other has more likes but zero customer reviews. I would like to keep the one with less likes. Any ideas how to do this?

Hi Jen, If I go to merge two business pages with almost identical names and the same address, but Facebook says that the pages are too far apart? It seems that everything I try ends up with same result. Can you help? ????
